A Compassion Ministry
When you hear compassion ministry so many people think of food and clothes. Compassion was used 100 times in the Old Testament to show mercy, compassion, comfort, console, pity, have mercy, and be sorry. Jesus set the Example of showing sympathy with compassion and worked with the afflicted, poor, and weak. Jesus used love, mercy and kindness. In Greek it was said to be from the bowels yearning meaning a deep emotional feeling. And God is full of compassion and grace. Jesus extended compassion to all even His enemies.

Compassion Ministry is just not food and clothes. We take people where they are and listen to them. We give them what Jesus would ask of us, food if they are hungry, clothes if they are cold, and a way to find shelter. When their basic needs are met they hear encouragement and love, they see that something different - that's what we call "Being Jesus with skin on is what we do!" Because every action we take, every word we say needs to be from Jesus - loving and caring. That is how He treated the people and how we should treat others - the bible says to be Christ-like in everything we do.

Lamentations 3:22-23 NKJ
"Because of the LORD's great love

They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.

SPIRITUAL WORKOUT ANSWER

What is a Sistrum?  Where is it found in the Bible?


It is a noise-making instrument, similar in shape to an old-fashioned sling-shot.  It was constructed with a bent rod of iron in a horseshoe shape with cross bars with rings on the bars.  When it was shaken it rattled. 

This kind of rattle was very common in the East.

It was only mentioned once in the Bible in 2 Samuel 6:5.
